Put this on the redsnapper forum but might get more views here

I bought a Redsnapper RS-324 tripod used off here and a Giottos ballhead which is too much for my needs, was thinking of getting the Redsnapper RSH-12 ballhead but is the quick release platform on it Kirk/Arca Swiss plate compatible so it will fit the plate/tripod foot on my Nikon 70-200mm and a Kirk L Bracket

Thanks

Not being sarky, I promise but wouldn't a phone call to RS get the definitive answer? I have a feeling that the RS heads/QR system is fairly closely modelled on the Manfrotto RC2 system but as I said, a call to them should tell you for sure.

Just had a look at their site to see and I'm afraid I was wrong! The QR plates don't look anything like the Manfrotto RC2 ones - in fact they look (to my inexpert eye) more like Arca style ones.

Already emailed them but didnt get a definitive answer, was just told that the QR Plate which fits is 2" x 1 5/8" x 3/8"

doesnt mean a great deal to me so have just asked if it is Arca/Kirk compatible (sp)

Arca/Kirk are 39mm wide which doesnt equate to any of the measurements Joe sent me.

Sorry but a total noob at this tripod/head/plate stuff.

I was going to say most if not all Kirk stuff is arca swiss compatible.

A much better system for quick release IMHO, very secure and solid.

Aye, i knew that Ian but was wanting to know if the Redsnapper stuff was Arca/Kirk compatible, seems it is.

Yes :D

And FWIW, RedSnapper QR plates are the cheapest A-S going by a long way. I have five I think.
