Week 16 - Monument

Hadrian's Wall

A monument to freedom from tyranny, and a reminder to always fight the good fight.

Nice sense of Drama.

I think I'd just crop out/clone out whatever's sneaking in top left.
Its the edge of the film where I have scanned it. (y)

Yep - nice and moody :)

I love to see the grain in the sky. Nice tones, and the composition works for me.

Week 17 - Unexpected Perspective

I hope that you were not expecting that.

Good spot :)

Interesting. Worrisit?

Interesting. Worrisit?

A vase with a sugar daddy in it, shot from overhead perspective.

I wasn't expecting to see that when I awoke this morning.

You very rarely see a vase on the lawn.

Obviously I use the term "lawn" in the loosest possible sense

Week 18 - Curves, Leading lines

I don't know if I meant to capture this exact scene, it looks a bit "off" but the more I look at it the more I like it, The huge weight of the water with the darker stripes pushes everything to the canoeist, the marker poles pin him down, he is forced into the corner. He battles the surge with an elbow on one side and beats it with a paddle the other side. A streetfight with the force of nature. Oh yes, the helmet and paddle are curved.

Good photo to include, and glad you identified the curves;)

Just how many curves do you need Alan ? :)

Even the nose plug is curved and I did not count that.

I really like the chaos in that, and yet the facial expression says calm!

Thanks Nick,

He closed his eyes in several of the shots, and no wonder !

He was going through gully's and into the whirlpools that many other canoeist would not even attempt, He had total control of the craft it was incredible to watch. He was a poser , and went in and out of the tricky bits time and time again so I could get the good shots. We had a good chat later and exchanged numbers, I am sure we will meet up again he was very apologetic as it was his first time in a new canoe and he thought he was not at his best. Myself and several others were gobsmacked.
