basic slave flash question

hi all just bought a yongnuo yn468-ii speedlite,and just wondering how the flash would work off camera,i know i can use a ttl lead but if i switch to slave mode mode will my nikon d90 fire it,ie does the slave flash realise the camera flash has triggered then fire or have i got it totally wrong thanks guys

Try it and see. In this link I can't see anywhere the D60 supports remote flash but I haven't looked THAT hard

[Flash In The Pan]

The YN will trigger from the flash being emitted by your D90, however it will be in manual mode only, so you'd need to set the power output on the slave yourself. There are, from memory, two slave functions on the 468-II, make sure you switch to the one that ignores the ttl pre-flash from the D90 or set the camera's flash to manual so that it only fires once.

Unless you're working indoors/in the shade and fairly close to the off-camera flash you may still have issues though as the optical slave on the YongNuo flashes is, at best, pretty poor...
