Hi all,

Got an a couple of questions regarding batteries.

Got a d700 coming and a 3rd party grip that comes with a couple of bat's, however I have found a replica EN-EL4a battery for £13 as opposed to £99, but they don't sell a charger. Can it use the normal D700 charger or do I need to find one for it?

Also, need some suggestions on a decent make and type of rechargeable AA's for the SB900? Anything I need to look out for?

Lastly, I see you can get the SD-9 battery pack for the SB900, anyone know if there is a 3rd party option available?

Completely different and much more expensive charger

Eneloops

Both YongNuo and Pixel make copies - around £40 or so from Ebay

Thanks for the info Graham :)

Found a En-EL4a replica + charger on the bay for £60, tempted but we'll see :)

Also, you may know, what do I need to connect an SB900 to a normal lighting stand? Got Lencarta ones at the moment.

There's an EN-EL4 3rd-party conversion available for the MB-D10, I got mine from Etefore (Phottix) but other sellers may do it too. It charges via a plug in cable to on the endcap straight into the mains, price when I bought mine was £30 from HK.

EDIT: Here it is for £24.99 from Poland

To attach the SB900 to a stand you may need an umbrella adapter with a stroboframe-type clamp as the foot on the SB900 is a bit bigger than those on other flashguns.
