I tried the search function but it didn't bring up anything specific.

I have an Energiser universal charger but looking for something more compact for my 7dayshop 2900s

Any TP users with decent recommendations for a cheap fast compact one that plugs in direct and does 4 AAs at a time?

I was only thinking earlier on that i wanted a new charger myself, the 7 day shop one looks very good and only £12 on their ebay site,
Just wondering if any one knows to one with the plug built into the back of it as this one looks like its a plug in cable.
 
I'm not sure if there are compact smart chargers available but I prefer to use a (bigger, bulkier) smart charger. If I'm travelling and cannot take the large charger, I stock up on extra batteries and take those instead (or fall back on purchasing disposables but I've not had to do that yet).
 
I have a technoline bl-700. If I need more batteries I will normally buy more rechargeables and take them with me.

Comes with 240V lead, 12V lead and USB lead. So can charge from the car or your laptop (slow from USB).

I know it doesn't plug in direct but it uses the same charger lead as Canon chargers.

if its just short term charging then these'll do fine. Long term it will affect the performance and durability of your batteries as they don't charge each battery independently.

Are you sure? The one I linked to can charge a single cell. It also has a display for each battery so it must be charging them independently. It even has a "refresh" function to bring back to life any cells suffering from the memory effect.

if it does, then I've just wasted an additional £40 on a Maha charger for nothing! :bang:

I've read some reviews on Amazon for this charger and I didn't get the impression that it could charge each battery independently, although it does seem to have the functionality to charge any combination and not just pairs. The refresh function was a little confusing too, as a proper refresh is a handful of deep discharge and recharge cycles, often taking a few days. So calling it a refresh may confuse people.

Well it's a single cycle, so you would have to press the button a couple of times if you wanted more.... I would still call it a refresh.

It's pretty good value bit of kit, I think I paid more than what it is now.
