battery grip and AA life..?

what sort of life do you get when using 6 lets say standard duracell batteries...? and has anyone used the 'spensive lithium ones?

for rechargable Alkaline AA batteries although they say not suitable for digital cameras ( I don't know why) but ok for flashguns etc.

I use rechargable AA batteries purchased from 7day shop their own brand and they havn't let me down yet.
