If you take a single 4 hour exposure, your problem will be with in camera noise, not the battery![]()
With long exposure like that, you typically take lots of shorter exposures and then do "dark" processing which removes the camera noise. That is, you'll take 20x3 minute exposures of what you want, (say) 5 x 3 minute exposures of the camera at the same temperature as the 20x3 mins, and then subtract the resulting image.And if you turn on NR for long exposures you will have a REALLY long exposure since this takes a second shot which acts as the "noise profile" for the 4 hour exposure.
