It depends. Some D70 batteries were recalled and replaced. The original battery part number for the D70 was EN-EL3 but some of the replacements sent out were EN-EL3e batteries. The EN-EL3 won't fit or work in the D200 but the EN-EL3e batteries will as that is the original battery part number. The D300 and D700 take the same battery (EN-EL3e) and D50, D70(s) also accept the EN-EL3e.

Basically look on the bottom of your battery, if it has 3 contacts it works in a d200 if it has 2 contacts its the d70
