Hi people

Im new here.

I have just purchased my first DSLR which is a canon. Would it be worth investing in the Hahnel HL-E8 battery and the Hahnel ultima II charger for canon?

what model of Canon do you have what makes you think the battery you have will not suit/last you?
 
The canon 550D. The canon LP-E8 Li-ion battery came with it but im not sure if its rechargeable? I found the charger and battery combo and was wondering if it would be worthwhile investing in it.
 
It is rechargeable, did you not receive a charger with the camera?

I presume you bought 2nd hand.
 
yeah i did. The guy who sold me it probally forgot to give me the bloody thing, but il make sure i get it.
Would you recommend the battery grip?
 
I like having a grip on my 400D but it does make it heavy, but it also gives you the option of using AA's.
 
I think you should use it for a while and see how you get on. I think the battery will last you ok and would be more inclined to spend the money on another memory card.
