Battery

Ex-Pro and Duracell have ben my third-party choices for Nikon, Mark.

I have an ex-Pro, which works OK, except there is no feedback about battery levels.

Just last week I brought a dot.pro. It worked fine in the camera, but when I went to charge it, it didn't fit in the charger, the locating lugs were too long.

So I returned that and brought a DTSE, which seems to work fine, but has only been in my possession a few days.

Perhaps check the prices of genuine used ones from somewhere like MPB or WEX. I bought a gen used one for my 6D last year and it's been fine (my original is showing one red bar for recharge performance but the used one is still on 3 green bars), and it cost about the same as a new 3rd party option. After finding 3rd party batteries last about a year or two on my Sony camcorders before they start to lose their charge holding performance, and the original (older) Sony batteries are still holding up OK, I'd much rather go for the genuine option if I get the chance.
