Which of the following lenses would give the better bokeh?
Canon 50 F/1.4 USM
Canon 85 F/1.8 USM
Canon 100 F/2.8 IS USM
 
Define better bokeh?

The 50mm f1.4 will throw more out of focus, but it doesn't necessarily make it better.
 
I'd have a guess at the 100mm looks quite a creamy blur to me!
 
Out fo focus and Bokeh are not one and the same are they?

My take on Bokeh is that it is about the shapes of the out of focus objects in line with Aperture blades/lens (more pronounced when any lights are in the background)

Bit subjective anyway....

From pic's that I have seen it appears the 100mm macro IS gives the creamiest niceiest and priciest bokeh, thank u all for ur comments

Bokeh from the Japanese language translates to (out of focus) how an individual looks at it is a different matter.

Good point. I suppose I was referring more to the creamy side of bokeh and the 100mm will have less in the frame which would give a more blown up and creamier out of focus areas.

I love using my 100 L macro for portraits as it does give fantastic looking bokeh, even in macro shots it looks really good although there's generally not much of it.
