you can link to the medium sized directly like this:

and then url link to the large version, filesize isnt a problem but images must be 800pixels on the longest edge

I like #2, although it does seem slightly out of focus. There is some gorgeous scenery along the Basingstoke canal - must get around to going back for another walk there soon

Right way? Well using img tags (the icon that looks like a mountain picture postcard) puts them in the thread like matty did so they are easier to see. Your pictures happen to look better in their large versions so I guess both ways is the best

Your shots show how hard it is to get the exposure right in harsh light - very bright highlights will overexpose and the subject may be a little darkened as in the duck. Nice job overall though
