beach huts

can anybody tell me what i did wrong with this image . the sky just doesnt look right . also what do you think of the composition ?

the sky like you say is a bit blown out, could have done with an ND grad to keep the exposure length right for the huts. I like the composition.

or possibly a polarizer to control the sky
like the layout tho!

Which bit dont you like?
I've taken the liberty of enhancing the sky and slightly reducing the blown area on the right.

If you like the change, then there are a couple of actions on my web site that I used (the sky one is burried down on the last page of Channel blending - but it does all the work for you).

Not the best pics ive seen of beach huts, but i suppose they aint the best looking beach huts

the beach is at southwold in suffolk

I have added an ND grad I think it does help the sky

Now thats spooky, I walked along that exact same spot this afternoon.

Actually, the cameras meter has coped with that scene really well.

Also the horizon is not straight IMO. ND grad would help the sky.

Depending on your editing software, perhaps a blue filter might enhance the sky.
I watched a program tonight " Coast" which included these huts, I found via the program there are some good places to visit with camera in hand, one that really takes my liking is "Thorpe Ness".
