First Damselflies of the year and one I've not seen before, I just wished it was a bit lower down in the trees, as getting a clear shot was difficult.

Lovely to see Geoff. Like you say, it was in a bit of an awkward spot and the angle doesn't do it justice. Hopefully they are near you and you'll have plenty of opportunities for better positions. Be worthwhile heading out on cool, cloudy days.

Thanks Tim, it really was an awkard angle, any closer and the leaves obscured it, I could have done with being 6-8 inches taller at this point, luckily not far away, unluckily first time I've seen them, apparently the males wait in trees until females arrive. I thought it was a butterfly to begin with ... so had to swap from the Sigma 150-600mm C to the macro lens.

Well spotted they are beautiful insects as Tim said its worth going back on a cloudy day as they will be easier to approach
