Beefier tripod required

Having a sturdy cheapish Manfrotto 718B for landscapes, i need something ballhead and tripod wise to be able to hold the D300 & Sigma 150-500 for birds.

Any ideas please ? if anybody knows of good deals on Giottos or Manfrotto please tell and what combination is best thanks.

I got a Redsnapper in the past six months, a superb piece of kit

Not sure how heavy your body + lens combo is but the 283 + ball head holds 8kg

Have a look at Benbo or Uniloc, brill for nature, gets where other tripods can only think about!
