Now that the glue has set on my modified bellows, I have had the opertunity to test it.
The first thing i noticed was the lens needs setting to infinity to get a sharp subject in the view finder.
Also when the aperture was set above f8 I couldn't see anything (to dark).

While shooting the image below, I lit the area with a torch to help me focus.
This is were the angle finder helps to get the very sharp detail.
I was trying to capture the little hairs from the Echinops globe thistle flower
which are protruding from the spikey flower head.

I didn't notice the visitor when I pressed the button on the remote cable.

Aphid on Echinops

f8 1/250 ISO100
Canon 10D, Pentax K bellows, SMC f2 50mm lens.
Ex 580 with stoffen (manual mode @ full power).

If I'd had seen the Aphid before the shot, i would have composed the shot better.

I'm lucky in that the lens I'm using has the aperture ring so I don't have the fart on. Setting the aperture to 2.8 then focus and wind it back to whatever.....all while still conected to the bellow and camera. When I took the Aquilegia, I saw something the size of a gnats nads scurry up the petal???? I'm quite getting into it but not having a flash means I have to really do this stuff outside for good results....but the wind puts pay to that! However I'm not beat yet....even if it means no nailsing the insects too!!!!!!

wow thats good, nice DoF
