Planning to spend a couple of days in Filey next week, and intend to pop along to Bempton Cliffs for some sea-bird shooting.

Any advice on appropriate lenses, best viewing platform would be appreciated

Thanks

Hi Les

I think we are hoping to pop in the week after.

For gannets, pretty much anywhere along the cliffs is good. I used a 500 last year for most of my stuff. They are fairly predictable to long lenses can work well. It is worth walking south too as there is a rocky outcrop that the birds congregate on as shown in the last 4 pictures here

That gallery I've linked is basically a walk from north to south (so from visitor centre turn north (i.e. left) when you reach the coast path and walk up about 3-4 inlets and then start heading back with the camera.

Hope that helps...

Thanks Paul-that's extremely useful.

So if I took my 120-300 f2.8+1.4 TC and a 200mm, I should have my bases covered ?
