Just seen this on Amazon and it is a bargain price.

I bought one earlier this year and it is a great tripod for heavy duty work. I paid around £360 for it and it was worth the money. For £146 it is a bargain.

Can't really help there Sue - I tried a cheaper one but returned it as it was stiff / jerky. Other people had raved about it.

Ended up with a Wimberley mk2 - expensive but total quality.

I use a Manfrotto 393 on my recently purchased 057 tripod and that holds my camera and lens (combined weight approx 7+kg) easily.

I already have a 393 for my monopod, but it is a very heavy old thing and very awkward to carry, I find, as none of the joints can be locked. Once I have a gimbal head I will check all is well then sell the 393.

Thats how amazon works. Prices drop until someone buys one which drives the price back up. Keep an eye on it and it will probably drop again in a week or so if no one else buys it.
