A Benro falling apart?!

Like... how? Can't you just tighten the screws?
 
Well....my mate suffers the same problem with his benro of the legs coming loose often.

Mine's got to the point within 30 mins of tightening the screws that they're loose again. Many trapped fingers in tripod legs later and I'm fed up. It has in fairness had 3 and a half years heavy landscape abuse...but still I'd expect a bit more!

If they are assembled like mine, maybe you need to take it apart for a thorough cleaning?

Take out the roller (threaded center), degrease, clean and grease again.

This bit must rotate freely, otherwise your screws will come loose...

Also grease the washers between base and leg forks.

What exact model are you using?


Loctite? Don't mention Loctite to me! Here's from my "a little experiment too far"-adventure!

Then all you need is 6 pcs of M8 x 16mm UNC button head bolts and - Voila! A much better looking tripod! :D


I replaced hook and angled base screw with pinol screws, replaced all shiny screws for legs with black ones and finally painted all the shiny logos...

Now I look closer, the hook is actually a ring! :D

You can see it in the "Before" shot above. To the right of the front leg on the base.
