Chas the little brass plaques are set into the pavement outside houses in the former jewish quarter, and state who lived in each house their date of birth and the date they were deported and where they were murdered. I have photos that show babies and 2 year old children were deported , I find these much more moving than the huge memorial on Ebertstraße, yet they are often over looked.
Adrian, I made a special effort this year to get to the Bierpinsel, pretty easy using the supper public transport system in Berlin. In fact I got off the U Bahn and could see the building at first as it was more or less directly over the station U9 Schloßstraße
