A Nikon TC won't fit that lens. Nobody else makes a 1.7x TC as far as I know either.
Even if you can get something like a Kenko to work, I really, really, wouldn't recommend a TC on that lens. Save the money and put it towards something else in the future.

I am sure only Nikon do the 1.7x TC, I would also check if that lens can use a tele converter. It is not listed as being compatible in the instruction leaflet, the main problem would be the rear element of the zoom lens hitting the front element of the TC.

Look for a third party (Possibly Kenko) 1.4x
Your AF will probably still struggle with the convertor attached as you max aperture will be F8 at 300mm but with good light it should work fine.

Just to repeat that 1, the Nikon teleconverters are not suitable for this lens (have a read of the lens's manual) and 2, it's not really worth using a third party one since (IMO) I get better results (sharper, more contrast etc) by cropping images shot at 300mm (up to A4 prints). If you want/need the extra 1.7x, the Sigma 150-500 OS is probably the lens for you.
