Hey

I am looking to purchase a 58mm UV filter for my newly purchased 70-300mm IS lens, but i am having trouble determining which one to get, purely because of the huge range of brands available. So can anyone recommend what brand i should be going for

Cheers

If you are dead set on getting one, Hoya Pro1 Digital are decent enough. Many people don't use UV filters unless it's for protection from the elements at the beach or other potentially dusty place. For most instances, your lens hood will be more than adequate.

Best filter is none at all! But if you must, Hoya Pro1, or I think Hoya would say their new HD version was better.
