I know it’s been asked many times before , but can anyone recommend a decent insurance company based on actual experience with them ,preferably recently??

I recently had a few issues with Eversure insurance recently. An SD card got stuck in the camera slot and I had a camera repair company to remove it but th slot got damaged not the repair companies fault (old SD cad broke apart). Eversure refused the repair costs saying more or less it was not covered under their insurance. they even went as far demanding a photo of the card slot showing the damage. That is how stupid it got. then three compaines got involved each buck passing with umpteen phone calls.
So I will be looking elsewhere in the future for camera insurance. over many many years with only one previous claim they treat ne very poorly is time having to pay out of my own pocket

Surely if the camera was damaged whilst in the hands of a repair company then it is the repair company or their insurers that have to cover the cost of the damage and not you.

I used Glover and Howe 4/5 years ago. They covered what I required without being too expensive. Fortunately I did not need to make a claim.

I then switched house insurers, the new co had the required cover for my photography gear.
