Best camera lenses/equipment for wedding photography please?

Hi there. I'm kinda new on this forum, but in a short while i have learnt so much. Wondering why i never came accross TP earlier. I currently am leaning towards weddings in my photography. I have a Canon 550d with a 18-55 mm, 50mm f1.8, and a 55-250mm. I also have a Nikon D60 with a 18-105mm. I am looking to add on a few more equipment obviously so could any one give me advice on 3 must have additional equipment to juice up my wedding photography output? I must mention that i do not have the luxury of a very fat budget! Hope i havent sounded like a total moron. Just wanna learn. Thanks anyone...

You might want to do a search as this topic is covered a lot and all the info you want has been posted before.

you need fast glass.. on crop body think

Canon 17-55 f2.8 IS or Tamron 17-50 f2.8
Canon 70-200 f2.8
Canon 50mm f1.4 or Sigma 50mm f1.4
Good flash canon 430ex or 580ex
A macro lens canon 100mm f2.8, tamron 90mm f2.8 or sigma 105mm f2.8

Wedding glass is not cheap

Few other things:
lots of memory cards.
Insurance.
Photoshop.

A better high ISO body 60d, 7D etc if staying with the Crop format.

Hi,

You first need to figure out Canon or Nikon. Then stay with one brand.

You could do with better bodies, 550d and Nikon D60 not great. Especially you finding that some guests using 5D II and D700.

I would suggest you find couple of 2nd hand 50D/60D/7D/5D Mk1 or D300.

Lens wise, you should go towards the constant f2.8. Alternative you can actually shoot with a handfull of cheapish primes like 28 1.8, Sigma 30 1.4, 50 1.4, 85 1.8

Then for group shots, this you will need a Ultra Wide Angle.

For detail macro, you can go cheap and get some tubes but alternative Sigma does a very good 150mm 2.8 macro which can also double up as your telephoto lens.

When you have made some money then you should start thinking about pro lens.

Sorry but to start doing Wedding seriously you need at least couple of grand with startup kit.

To be honest, I personally have stop doing weddings as there are just too many newbie. Luckily for me, weddings was a part of my hobby, so when I had booking the money is only helping me to fuel my camera collection. Unless you a very good, if not there isn't that much money in it these days.
