Best Camera on a Phone? Suggestions please

Hi,

Im looking for a phone which has a pretty good camera for snaps etc when out and about, of friends the GF etc without having to take a proper compact.

Anyideas?

How much do you want to spend?

The iPhone 4 has arguably the best camera out there, but you're looking at £400 PAYG, or signing up to a lengthy contract.

I've had a Nokia N95 8GB for a while now and the 5MP on that is excellent in good light. Struggles a little in lower light situations though, as do quite a lot of phone cameras.

Sony Xperia X10 is very good, I had a go of iPhone 4 and its very sharp (at least one the screen. Its more £500 payg though.

the c905 camera is outstanding as far as phone cameras go. but i personally hate it as a phone

why not buy a compact?????? Many of them are tiny nowadays.........

How long until something like a Canon whats*** with a simcard and keypad - a phonecamera instead of a cameraphone???

Aye it's not the best, but it's served me well up to now ,soon to be replace by iphone
