Best Canon for sports

Ok, so what would be the best canon for sports photography if you had to pick one ??
 
a 1D mk 3 or 4 if money will not reach a 7D. But you will then need good glass. I have seen some stunning shots taken with a 350D and a 75-300 lens.

It would depend largely on how much you have to spend I spose, the ID mk 4 would be at the top of the tree for FPS, autofocus and image quality but thats a £3000+ camera even buying used.

The 7D is the most obvious option on a lower budget with better autofocus and more FPS than any of the other modern Canon bodies at a low price.
 
Best bang for the buck is 1DmkII right now. They are very cheap and still produce the goods. I upgraded to a mkIII but don't see a huge gain yet my wallet took a pounding. I am sure a mkIV is better.

I agree, prefer my 1diin to my 7d for sports.

Exactly! the OP didnt mention buget so why are people offering cameras that are not the best.. the best Canon for sport is the 1dmkIV .. as he says.. there is no other answer :)
