Best current compact under £50

A relative needs a cheap, but . . good compact under £50. I've no knowledge of the current models, but can anyone recommend any? Thanks in advance

Samsung S760 or similar, bought one for my mother a couple of years ago and not only did it produce good shots but the video on it was outstanding, better than on my sony handycam!!


PS probably be an EBAY job now, but there are refurbished ones on there from £30

Something from ebay.. There's not a single compact for under £50 new that I could recommend to anyone.. :shrug:

Closest to £50 would probably be a Fujifilm AV100 or similar. But you're not looking at a "best of" but a "least awful of" in that price range... sorry :shake:
