Hi all
What is the best size pictures to take at events ?
I mostly sell 10x8 prints but have recently been selling larger canvas and framed prints:

Canon 40d has
Large - 3888 x 2592
Medium - 2816 x 1880
Small - 1936 x 1288

Is medium best ?

You can always make a large file into a small image, but its more dificult to make a small file into a large image.

Large would be best. But that depends if your frame rate suffers and you have enough storage capacity.

its a 40d it shots 75 full size jpegs in the buffer at 6.3 fps if thats too slow buy a 1d :D
full RAW still gets like 17 frames which is a fair few for most things

thanks, i dont use much fps anyway as i tend to take single shot (i get the timing just right usually)

But for ease of uploading to net i usually just do medium fine
Should i maybe shoot medium and raw ?? Would that be a good idea ?

Depends on your workflow.

Personally I just shoot RAW and process in Lightroom. Export full size for prints.

Export 800px @ 72 DPI for the proofs on the net. I watermark using Process Multiple Files in PSE6 before uploading.

Shoot RAW and then you have every possiblity still open to you afterwards...
