Best lens for holiday?

Hi all,

I'm going on holiday from the end of August and I'm just wondering, what sort of lens would you recommend? I will be mainly taking photographs of my family there and just a few 'landscape' ones.

I'm thinking perhaps just a 18-55?

18-55 is very poor optically. I think almost anything else will give sharper more contrasty shots.

I'd suggest the EF-S 15-85 for a crop camera.

Tamron 18-270 would give you a large range and in a small lens too, especially if you look at the new PZD motor.
