Best Lens for newborn baby then child

Our first child is due in December & I've been saving my readies for a new portrait lens.

The two that jump out at me are the Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 L & the Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L.

I've seen positives/negatives for the 50mm, where as the 85mm is generally regarding as a superb lens, albeit with slow AF.

Which one would people recommend & are there any others to throw into the mix?

I went for the 35 1.4, 85 1.2 combo but I have the 24-70 if I want 50mm

The choice is entirely yours! Whichever focal length you prefer is what (IMO) you should go for.

I must admit I'm leaning towards the 85mm, is the slow AF as bad as some people have said & would the lens mounted on my 5DMKIII make any difference?
