Yes I know a Canon lens wont fit perfectly on my D200 ;)

A friend of mine (450D owner) is looking to rent a 'good' lens for the pod, he only has an 18-200 Sigi at the moment. Anyone got any suggestions... I know next to nout about Canon gear and so what to suggest
I guess we are looking around the 200-300mm area.

Many thanks guys

What about the 100-400?

I shoot regularly at Santa Pod, usually from the Trackside, I use either Canon 24-70 or 70-200 depending on how much I want to fill the frame, if your friend is shooting from the bank 100-400 would be better, but needs good light, you can get some good stuff from the stand, also nearer to the track, so 70-200 would give your friend enough reach...

I use 70-300 for shots from the bank, aiming side on. Pretty much all you need for the Pod.

If you want some nice head on type shots, then more length is needed as you have to increase the shooting range to get the angle IYSWIM.
