best mouse for photo editing

looking for a mouse to use with my laptop. main use will be for editing so whats the best option. read a few things about using a gaming mouse ???

i cant get on with a tablet and pen so only looking at mouse`s
 
I have to use a mouse at all times, just cant get a handle on the laptop pads. I just use a wireless microsoft mouse with wheel. Never had any trouble when editing in photoshop using it.
 
Gaming mice are favoured because of the resolution, I would suggest anything from Razer as they cater for this kind of thing ;)
 
Gaming happens to be another hobby of mine if you can call it that so I've already got the mouse :)

I happen to prefer my Roccat Kone XTD to anything Razer makes because of the shape and extra buttons.

You'll find most gaming mice should be pretty accurate so the rest comes down to budget and preference over looks, ergonomics and other features like extra buttons etc.
 
I use a Razer Mamba 2012 and I'm happy with it. Had swayed between MS and Logitech over the years but I prefer this. My one issue is that the base station has decided to play funny buggers recently and won't work so I need to use it wired instead of wireless. I'll get round to fixing it sometime, I only use it on the desk anyway so it's not been a problem for me.

Have never had a Roccat so may try one of them next, the XTD looks good.
 
Looks like the gaming mouse route is the way to go cheers for the conformation. I have been playing with a friends wacom tablet and just cant get on with it find my hand shakes too much.

Also is wired better over wireless ???
 
Unless you really want wireless because you have a phobia of cables or need to sit far away from the computer then I would stick to wired. They'll tend to be cheaper and you won't need to worry about the battery etc.
 
I use a magic mouse with my Mac and find the resolution a lot better than other Logitech type mice. But if your on windows I think gaming mice are going to be the best... Just don't thing there would be a need for loads of buttons on it.
 
I use an old Logitech G5 mk2 gaming mouse and love the extra buttons as I can use them as hotkeys for example in Lightroom I can have one as pick another as reject etc... I occasionally use a mac magic mouse at work and cant stand the thing especially the stupid touch sensitive top. Would always choose wired over wireless, no chance of flat batterys stopping play lol

Yeah, most of these gaming mice have software that lets you re-program buttons for anything you want whether its single key strokes or shorts that use ctrl or shift combined with other buttons.

Personally, I wouldn't use any mouse that doesn't have at least 5 buttons unless it's some kind of emergency lol
 
I have a Razer Imperator. Bought it for gaming on the laptop but also use it for lightroom/photoshop.
 
As above. Logictech mice are brill.

I use a g9x, brilliant as you can change sensitivity on the fly if you need to be slightly more careful.

Also use a wacom tablet. Brilliant for doing what the mouse cant do!
