I've noticed a lot more interest in older digital cameras recently, particularly early 2000s compact cameras.

It's interesting how people are actively looking for the older digital look rather than the sharpest possible image quality.

Has anyone here started using older digital cameras again? Interested to hear which models people are enjoying.

Running a camera site myself I get a lot of questions about the best older model models for beginners so curious on everyone elses suggestions?

My current favourite is Nikon's last swivel grip camera, the Coolpix S10...

A Canonet QL17 if I want an unsharp image :ROFLMAO:
But, most of my work this year has been with an X100f, film look profiles with a load of grain. I'll have to share a 100% crop at some point - but no one, on here, forums, Farcebook, Flickr, Instagram..... have made any comments about how "unsharp" the images are.

And, a bit more relative to your post, my boy has recently been to Sweden with his girlfriend (they are both 21 Oct and Nov) so it was a joint birthday holiday. He took his Sony A6000 with just the kit lens for the daytime, sightseeing stuff and an old digicam for the evenings and meals drinks etc I'll have to ask him what it is - it's either an old one of mine that I left after the divorce in 2013, or it's an old one of my dad's. That probably means it's either Sony (W800 maybe) or a Canon of some description.

X100f is a lovely camera!

Interesting, the older digicams are definitely having a resurgence!

My all time favourite body was the canon 1Dmkiii I owned several over the course of a few years , as soon as I sold one I missed it and bought another ,built like the proverbial brick outhouse they just kept going ,coupled with a 400 f5.6 ‘‘twas a super rig .
