Best place to get a Nikon Camera serviced in the UK?

Thanks Yv. I am in the North East but am happy to post it. Nikon do not do it them self but have a few service shops they endorse in the UK. I just thought they may be other places that people like to use so thought id ask.

I sent mine to nIkon UK a couple of months ago. It cost me £90 for a full service and focus check etc

Eh?
Yes they do.
Nikon UK have a service dept in the building - up the stairs and turn right - and a surprisingly bad magazine collection for those waiting - and HORRIBLE coffee in the staff canteen...
I just take mine in and collect when they're done...

Just take a Starbuck's with you - it really is terrible coffee...

I used Fixation a while ago to repair the eyepiece on one of my D3's.

Was suprisingly expensive, cost £280 in total (included recalibration and clean etc).

They did a good job though, and my insurance company footed the bill :)

Turnaround time was good aswel, had It back in about a week. Might take longer if you're not a professional though since they prioratise pros.

Nikon U.K......Only the best!

TBH the only advantage to going direct to Nikon UK as opposed to a Nikon authorised repair centre is that Nikon UK are more likely to have the parts on-hand...and even that's not always the case - had to wait 2 months for the repair to my old D1x - a new little rubber-cover to the Firewire/video output jack on the back... £90...hmmmm

I had to send my little Coolpix 5700 to Nikon UK (sensor replacement) The approved service shop near Dublin no longer had the parts or a technician that could carry out the repair....This was a re-call free of charge repair, and took less than two weeks...Beat that for service!..Especially on a 2002 vintage camera,
