Best place to pick up a Samyang 14mm for Canon?

Hi,

Have any of you guys out there seen the Samyag 14mm on a Canon mount at a good price - I was eyeing eBay but for some unknown reason the price has suddenly gone insane - was always £130, now going for £230.

Well I say for some unknown reason - I do know why, its because I'm looking to get one :D

UKdigital are the UK dealer I think. I use the 14mm on a D800 very underrated little lens. Don't remember them at £130 though.

Cheers - no, the £130 was the general ebay sold price for second hand.

UKdigital are fairly expensive too - there are a couple of ebay importers coming in pretty cheaply, then theres OneStopDigital at £237 but I figure I may as well ask - someone may have spotted a cheap second hand one somewhere.
 
You're probably more talking £220 used here, maybe a bit cheaper if the seller is motivated to get rid of it. It's worth packing in the bag when you're in a tight spot although can be a bit of a crapshoot getting a good copy if you buy from Hong Kong.
 
Thanks I'll keep an eye out - I know HK can be a bit fun if something goes wrong, but I couldn't bring myself to pay more than 75% for a used lens, so even buying full price from UK D (which I think they have a free filter holder offer too) the second hand prices here look like they might be too high, a shame as often they can be pretty good.
 
I've never seen them that low. I bought mine new from last years camera show for £265
 
Ah, I've had a closer look and it seems I was wrong on the price - more like £200 - the ones I'd seen were either marked or for non-Canon fittings (don't I feel an arse!) - guess I'll have to re-evaluate my idea of what it should cost.

You could get an adapter or just wait until you get lucky.

OK, lets put this into perspective, it's under £300 when the equivalent canon is around £1900, second hand makes them a bargain. Ok it's fully manual, but to be honest, f11 focus at 3 feet and you've got from 1.5 feet to infinity as a depth of field.
 
It certainly does look like a good lens - I suspect I'll be ordering one pretty good.

It'll be a hell of a departure for me - I've never before had a manual lens and I almost never shoot wide, I hope it'll be a lot of fun :)

I spotted your comment in the other thread about using a Nikon profile in Lightoom - I've had a quick look but am unsure which it is, is it the Nikkor 14-24 or is there a custom one out there?

Update - just bought new, as you say its a bargain and at some point I'd have just bought it anyway :D
