Hi,

I want to trade my Canon 70-200 F4 IS lens for a 70-200 F2.8 IS Lens.

I looked on TP but nobody wants to do a trade plus some cash.

So where do you all suggest for a good trade.
 
I'm not sure if a trade in deal will get you the best value. Any retailer will always want to make a substantial mark up on anything they buy.

You will probably be better off selling your existing lens privately and then buying the f2.8 version as a separate transaction. For a private sale, try the TP classifieds or possibly eBay.
 
I made you an offer that you didn't take... Good luck getting anywhere near the deal offered with an independent retailer. I think they'd offer you £600 if you're lucky for your lens as a trade-in. It's a good lens though probably not quite as sharp as your f4 IS

I came back with a counter offer which you never responded to. You also stated you was keeping for now.

My counter offer is still on the table if your selling again

Hi Tony sorry yes I'm keeping the lens. I just thought I'd mention it since you made it sound like no one was offering anything here. Just saying the opportunity was there. I was already offering my best. I can get a brand new one of F4 IS for £750 so I thought it was fair. Good luck with your search.
 
Try again. Sometimes things take a while to sell, no interest then all of a sudden you get 2 or 3 after your item.
 
I recently had an offer of £300 for a Canon 70-200 f4 L non IS in excellent condition off MPB. These lenses are going for around £350-360 on ebay but obviously you have fees to pay with ebay and Paypal so £360 on ebay comes to about £320 to £325 and you have to wait for the sale with no guarantee of it selling in the end.
