Yes
hi all, my sister is going travelling early next year and wants to take a camera to document it all. She's not really into photography at all and knows next to nothing. She doesn't want to take anything too bulky so much as i'd love her to take a dslr, it's not going to happen. So what's the best camera she could get for about £200 to take with her? Any thoughts?

Thanks!

My girl has the Panasonic lumix ZX1, its a great & very compact camera , ideal for point & click

Not the most amazing camera but I got a Canon A490 at the weekend as I lost my Sony compact. Cost me £50 at Argos.

If they aren't a photographer then this will probably be fine, and as a photographer I can use the P mode and vary EC flash modes etc if I feel the need. Not done a huge amount with it but my initial feeling is it will be perfectly fine unless you want more than the 27-122mm equiv focal lengths.

Takes AAs too which would be useful in a travel camera, I am using these in mine, which I also use for my flash and give very good life in that.

So far it seems a great "throw in the bag" camera for when I don't want/need to take the SLRs.
