Hi,

I am looking to buy a new Canon 5d Mark II from the UK and just wondering if anyone has seen any good offers as of late? I would obviously like to get the 5d but don't have the budget for it. The best offer I have seen is £1299. That's body only new from the uk.

Has anyone seen prices better than this?

Be very careful with these websites that offer unbelievable deals, £1300 for a 5D MKII especially when most places its still going for £1500 +

Personally I would seriously check out the website offering this deal, reviews, where they're actually based, most deals that are too good to be true are often grey imports which pose headaches if thinks go wrong.

£1200 is more like the 2nd hand price, I too would be very careful.
 
Ok thanks, so what's the issue with grey imports? is it only warranty. This site and others like hdnews say they will handle all repairs. Feedback from users of these sites seem very positive. Are there any other disadvantages?
 
HDEW have them for just over £1300, grey imports, but a decent company to deal with.
 
I think I'd rather pay around £1300 for a new grey import than 1200 for a used 1.
 
Not sure what Kerso's price is to members here, but his website (www.flashcamera.co.uk) has the MkII new for £1439. Whilst they are US imports, because he pays the import duty & VAT, Canon will provide UK warranty support, so not essentially a grey import.
 
+1 for Hdew cameras. I've bought a 5D2 kit and a 5D3 body from them at great prices. They are imports but they supply a UK receipt and they use Canon approved service centres for the 3 year warranties. Great company and gives great service. They paid extra for a saturday delivery as I had a shoot on the sunday and needed it desperately.
