Best sub £100 compact

Hi guys, just after a bit of advice, the local animal charity i do photographic work for have asked me to find them a sub £100 compact camera.

It needs to have good low-light performance and a decent zoom on it. Just wondered, does anyone on here have any good recommendations?

Be aware that cheaper compacts usually run on AA batteries which they gobble up at an alarming rate, I speak from experience.

It's well worth checking out.

I bought a Canon Powershot SX120 for my girlfriend and it has brilliant IQ for the money.

Rechargeable AA batteries of 2700 mAh give a pretty good life. The life span will also be considerably better if using a viewfinder rather than the screen. The Canon Powershot A1200 is a good little camera for the money.
