Best time to buy a Nikon D7000

Hi
When would be the best time to buy a new Nikon D7000 with the launch of the D7100?
Or would it be a better option to buy second hand? Second hand prices don't appear to much less that new at the moment. I currently have a Canon 7D but I am very impressed with the high ISO performance of the Nikon.

Really? They've been £600 for a while then? They seem to be hovering around £600 for body only. Around £450-500 used on Ebay. How cheap are you hoping they'll get? That's a lot of camera for £600ish.

I have been looking for about 3-4 months now and body only has been around £600ish all the time. I have even seen them as low as £545.00, I have been advised to wait but nothing seems to be happening price wise, should I take the leap?

I reckon now is just about as low as it'll get. In fact, IF the new D7100 doesn't live up to expectations ..... the D7000 might go up in price.

I doubt the D7100 would be a disappointment but I agree that prices that much if at all. The D90 held its price well after the introduction of the D7000

I also doubt it will be a disappointment Least I hope not! I have one on order.

I bought my D700 a few months ago, just before the D600 was announced & just about at rock bottom price. Shortly after that they actually increased in price as they were more difficult to get hold of new.

That is exactly what I have found. The D7000 was available about 2 months ago on Amazon along with the 18-105mm kit lens for £680 but like a fool I didn't buy it. Kicked myself strait afterwards but now hoping it will come back down again. What an idiot I am.
