Best way to clean sea spray off a filter. Advice please

Sea spray is horrible. Try lens cleaner, from opticians, but if it's bad, I would wash in warm soapy water. Dry the surfaces with kitchen roll and then put in the airing cupboard overnight, then brush off any particles and finish off with a microfibre cloth.
Some filter coatings can be permanently marked by dried on water, so don't be surprised if there are some small residual signs left. It won't do any harm but water should always be wiped off immediately.

p.s.
warm water and slow drying. But you'll be amazed how little difference even a vast load of cack on the front makes to your shots anyway... there's a famous link about scratched front elements somewhere...

my method pasted from another thread...
If it's got actual dirt or salt on it (i take photos by the sea a lot), rocket blower first, then i use warm water applied with cotton buds just rolled over the surface (salt crystals feel nasty being rubbed over the glass with a cloth of any kind to me), then microfibre cloth to dry and get rid of smears.
