Recently acquired a macro lens and had a quick play again today with my new (old) 105 afd micro. Hand held, manual focus, natural window light from 1 o'clock (as per watch!) and cls diffused flash camera left TTL.

Just doesn't feel quite there yet??:thinking:shrug:

I've found when I'm doing macro that if indoors a little but of bounced flash from our white ceilings does the trick for me when it comes to lighting but the dedicated macro guy's and girls will be able to help you more than me (y)

I think the only way to get a picture like a watch on it's side is to photo stack but then you need the software to put them together

Have a look at LED light box's like the ones from Manfrotto they may do the trick.

Picked up a cheap o ring, so I'll have a play with that when it arrives. Anybody had any experience with them?
