North England Beyond ‘that gate’ - Mam Tor

Been to Mam Tor a couple of times and wondered down to the famous gate for the shot most people have. But always stopped there- is it worth wondering beyond - are there any decent images to be had beyond it or is it just a nice walk?

You can get some interesting shots looking back towards Castleton and Mam Tor with the sun behind you in the morning or look forward to the lone tree on Lose Hill

Always worth a stroll. There’s a “boring bit” in the middle but as I always say to myself - look behind you !! Often some good light happening to your back.

Lose Hill isn't that good, but Back Tor, view of from near Hollins Cross, and a lone tree are very worthwhile.

Come on Chris, just go for a walk. You might find something great. Even if you don't then you've had a stroll in a superb bit of the English countryside.

Nice little walk either way, start in Castleton, up through Cave Dale, round to Mam Tor, up and over. Along the great ridge.

Either carry on to Lose hill or head down the track back into Castleton and have a Pint for your efforts
