Popped down to Sandown Zoo to have a look at the big cats today.

The fences were a nightmare & any glass was really dirty

Last year the white cat was very, very poorly & was skinny & being sick.
Learned today that it had a serious eye infection that affected its jaw so it
couldnt eat.

They spoke to the vet who agreed to operate & removed the right eye.
The cat is now looking much more healthy I was pleased to see.

Great pictures, went there about four years ago and remember it is not the easier place to walk away with decent pictures, you have done a much better job than I did

Thanks adrian & no, its not the easiest place to get good pics.

The lions were not playing ball today & because of their positioning, you would
have had to shoot through two lots of fencing to get a shot.

Well you have done good considering. The last time I went there must have been about 40yrs ago  I remember there was a section where they had the biggest collection of the most poisonous snakes in captivity, not sure if that is still going

You have some good shots there, I went for the first time last year and thought it may be a waste of money and only a short visit, but ended up spending all day there, they have some wonderful Tigers there.

Wow, these bring back some great childhood memories. When I was about 10 we went to there and the then owner saw that I was gong nearly everdqy of the holiday. I had a total fasination with the place, anyway I got to play with the tiger cubs, makes me wonder if any of these are the cubs I played with. Great shots.

Thanks for the comments guys.

According to my mothers friends, during the summer periods, if they have
any new cubs, they quite often take them for a walk down Sandown seafront.

Id love to caprure that with my camera
