big lenses.

Hi all, right i just wanted to know what people do with there gear when they leave big lenses on(how they store) i leave both cameras on my shelf lying on there back with lens pointing up, both with 500mm lenses on.

If I ever leave my 300mm 2.8 with the body attached, it's always on a flat surface, glass down. It's plenty recessed to avoid any damage, and I guess it's better to have the heaviest/widest bit at the bottom to keep it as low as possible!

I thought you meant real big lenses not a 50-500 . Same as above for me. Or I just chuck it on the ground while I use something else. Hard to stand big glass on an uneven surface so it usually lays on its side on the grass or whatever.

When not in use its in the rental store .
