Biggest bargain you've ever missed?

What's the biggest photographic bargain you've ever just missed? Went on to a thread, an online auction, walked into a shop or just been beaten at a sale a moment too late?

A photojournalist on a forum (not TP ) classified section selling a canon 70-200 L f2.8 which looked really hard worked ( lots of paint chips and rub marks) but was mechanically and optically perfect. Price asked ? £400. Missed it by 2 minutes. Aaaaargh !

£999 for a Sigma 120-300 OS at Wex - only missed it because I paused to ask them a question they didn't know the answer to anyway
