Billingham 225 Owner? Question About The Base.

Does anyone have one of these? I've just bought one used from a camera shop and I'm surprised that there is zero padding in the base. All there is is the single layer of canvas with the metal claw backs of the feet exposed. Is this right or is there something missing? Could one of you 225 owners check your bag and let me know. All the Billingham i have brought have had a padded base,that padded base can be removed i think in this case it has been lost,you can buy replacement

Many thanks. I thought as much. I think the bag is rather bonkers but I like it a lot so I'll see if the shop can find the base or get a replacement. If not, I might send it back and wait for another one to come up.

I double checked with Billingham and they confirmed there should definitely be a base. Fortunately they were able to send me one for a not totally extortionate amount. It arrived today and it is rather substantial with lots of padding around a wooden board. Quite how the retailer could have overlooked its absence is a mystery to me. Anyway, the bag is now complete and I must say, despite it's many foibles, it is pretty much Mary Poppins.
