Billingham: fibrenyte vs canvas

I am looking for some feedback from owners of Billingham bags. I think I prefer canvas as I have read it is softer, better looking and not shiny in comparison to fibrenyte.

As the khaki colour canvas ages I imagine it looks retro and cool. However, I am thinking of getting a black one. How does that look as it ages? Does it just end up looking faded, grey and tatty rather than retro/cool?

Not sure it's relevant but I am considering the Hadley Pro.

Thanks in advance,
Dub

Frankly, you'd be hard pressed to tell them apart by looking, or even feel. Extremely similar. Fibrenyte is technically better, certainly lighter, but it ain't canvas.

Mine is Fibrenyte though, no regrets. BTW, I think black Billinghams should be made illegal

I have a black Hadley Pro in canvas and I love it. It get's used as a messenger bag on a daily basis and then sometimes when I am travelling light camera-wise I use it as my camera bag.

Have no experience of the difference between Canvas and Fibre other than the information that is available online.

Yup that's the plan for me too. I have a lovely Tumi laptop bag that cost more than twice the billingham but I'm having a handbag moment and feel like a change :)

I know it will take a 13" MacBook Air.

Has anyone had a black canvas one for a few years?

Haha I assume you have khaki and tan :)

Chocolate :)

Actually, I've just remembered the very nice and distinguished Billingham briefcase I stole from the missus is black and tan - oops! They don't make them anymore. So just to be clear, it's only all-black Billingham owners that should be shot :D

Edit: that's all-black bags - owners can be any colour
