Bingley Locks

A little bit late but if anyone is near the Bingley Five Rise Locks, they are currently drained and have public access to walk through them until 5.30

wish I lived near by, would be awesome to get some pics

I was tempted to go, but it was VERY busy yesterday and to be honest the locks seem to be full of scaffolding that allows people to walk down through them....just seems to look a bit like a building site

Yeah I thought that from a video Ive just watched, but then again its not often youd get a site like that I guess

Looks fab from the top looking down to the bottom - saw it on the news this morning.

Have just come back from visiting them. Whilst it was nice to be "in the lock" didn't really do it for me photographically. Spent a pleasant hour + queuing and have a few shots, none of which are really more than snaps. Too many people and a lot of scaffolding. (well that's my excuse)

The locks are just at the building in the distance.

I guess it was probably intersting for some people to see how the lock mechanisms actually work, as usually most of it is underwater.
