Binoculars under £100 - recommendations ??

Looking to replace my binoculars and (for absolutely no reason whatsoever) I've set a £100 budget.

In terms of magnification / brightness - something in the region of 8 X 42 to 10 x 50 and I'd like them to be 'waterproof'

Considering something along these lines but I'd welcome all recommendations

I've had a pair of THESE for years and they have been well and truly abused, can't fault them and would buy again.
 
Don't know Hawke binoculars but they seem well liked by quite a few. I found this site - http://www.bestbinocularsreviews.com/ - quite useful but actually trying out different pairs is the best way, though I appreciate this is not always possible.

Difficult to recommend a pair as everyone's eyes are different !! I think the first stage is to decide if you want 8x or 10x magnification & then take it from there. Ideally I would recommend that you visit somewhere to try a range if possible.

BTW I've got a pair of Hawke ED's (above your price limit I know) but I've been very pleased with them

Trying them out is a bit tricky living in rural Scotland but I may end up somewhere that would allow that.
 
At Bowood Game Fair in September, I picked a pair of these up, the clarity was excellent, better then most on the stall with a price tag up to £200......I put them back down and didn't buy them :banghead:

You've just reminded mi I still want some and I've just ordered a pair :D

Interesting

I've owned a few 10X magnification binoculars over the years.

I could be doing more recent offerings a disservice but (being in gloomy Scotland) I think if I was was going for 10X I'd like 50 at the front.
 
I had some hawke nature treks and they were great, but a little uncomfortable. Collimation was fine etc, but interpupilary distance and angle felt off. I got some helios naturesport 10x50 and LOVE them. Optically as good as the hawkes just a lot nicer feel to them.
 
Ended up going for these Bushnell Binoculars

8x42 (decided against 10X)
Water / fog proof
Standard Size OK weight
Nice and Bright
Handy close min focus distance
Comfy in the hand.

Seemed to be over the £100 budget but WEX currently have them at £77

Very happy with them.
